Inspection Bodies that obtain accreditation must demonstrate a certain level of technical competence to the accrediting body, that it is capable of performing specific types of inspection activities and produce accurate results.  The use of accredited inspection bodies facilitate trade and economic growth as the accreditation process relies on a uniformed approach to confirm the Inspection Body’s competence, an approach that is widely accepted across the globe.
